The Beatles - Rock Band

En 2009, se publicó la versión de los Beatles del videojuego Rock Band, acompañada por las nuevas remasterizaciones de todo su catálogo musical como banda sonora. Comprende varios escenarios, instrumentos y canciones icónicos de la banda. En esta entrada, están detalladas su banda sonora dividida en los capítulos del videojuego y en los escenarios donde aparecen. Después, en la segunda mitad del artículo, están detallados los instrumentos de cada Beatle y en cuál canción aparecen. 

Banda sonora

Como aclaración, para cada canción están detallados: sus compositores, el álbum al que pertenecen, y su año de publicación. Aquellas que están subrayadas significan que, en la vida real, efectivamente fueron tocadas en el escenario que les corresponde en el videojuego. El caso del capítulo del concierto en la azotea de 1969 es muy especial: las canciones I’ve Got A Feeling y Dig A Pony, subrayadas por su condición de haberse tocado realmente en dicho recital, están en sus respectivas versiones en vivo, porque son estas las que se publicaron en el álbum Let It Be. Las restantes canciones que aparecen en escenarios de conciertos están en sus versiones de estudio, porque todas provienen de los álbumes de estudio remasterizados. Por ejemplo, Get Back y Don’t Let Me Down también fueron tocadas en vivo en el concierto en la azotea, pero las versiones que aparecen en el videojuego son, para Get Back, la del álbum Let It Be, y para Don’t Let Me Down, la que fue publicada como lado B del single Get Back, publicada en Past Masters. Ambos temas fueron grabados en estudio.

Otra aclaración importante es que, como está indicado, las canciones que tienen como escenario a los estudios Abbey Road están subrayadas, excepto los medleys y el mash up entre Tomorrow Never Knows y Within You Without You. Esto es porque, evidentemente, todas las canciones de los Beatles dentro de sus álbumes de estudio oficiales fueron grabadas alguna vez profesionalmente, sin embargo, no necesariamente las canciones que quedaron enganchadas como un popurrí fueron grabadas de esta manera. Por ejemplo, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band fue grabada en febrero de 1967 y With A Little Help From My Friends, en marzo de ese año, lo que significa que no se armaron literalmente una después que la otra. El medley de Abbey Road, en parte, sí fue concebido de este modo, pero cada canción tuvo sus sobregrabaciones, hechas por separado.
